We have made a process to register for your class as easy as possible. Please click on the blue "PAY FOR YOUR CLASS HERE". tab above. Once you pay, you will receive an available calendar to register yourself and your children if applicable.  

The cost of the Adult/Parent class is $128.00 paid online, a service fee is included and is $133.00 total. If you need to pay for the class in person, please email the director at the email at the bottom of this page and she would be happy to make arrangements for the payment to be dropped off. Payment is required prior to your scheduled class.  Online payments can be made by clicking this link (Pay for class here) or the payment Link at the top of this page. There is no cost for the Child/Teenage class.

In the event you need to reschedule a class, you will only be allowed to reschedule two times without paying a new class registration fee.  You can reschedule by contacting carrie.thomson.paralegal@gmail.com via email, whereby you will be provided with a new link to schedule for a new class day and time.

The Johnson County Courts require parents by court order, who have children between the ages of 8-16, to attend the Families in Transition (FIT) Class while their petition for the dissolution of marriage is pending. The required class is held at 40 East Jefferson Street, Franklin, IN 46131, unless you are notified otherwise by the director.  We will do our best to ensure the registration process is simple, the course is educational, and that families are given tools for a peaceful transition from married to unmarried parents. We do our best to make sure parents will not attend the same class session. Children between the ages of 8-16 years are also required by the Court to attend a Families in Transition Class (FIT) scheduled separately from the parenting class. 

When parents and their children successfully complete the FIT class, we will notify the Court of the parent’s compliance of the court order. We will file a Certificate of Completion of the FIT Program on behalf of each participant that completed their registered class within 3 days of completion. The notice of completion certificate will be filed through the Indiana E-Filing Service and copied to the attorney of record or each party if unrepresented.

 Adult/Parent classes are scheduled either on a Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or Saturday per month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The classes are presented by professionally trained instructors and are held at 40 East Jefferson Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131. To begin the registration process, a parent will pay for the Course by clicking this payment link (Pay for class here) or by clicking the payment link at the top of this page.  Once payment is made, a parent will receive an email to access and schedule for the “Parent Calendar” and “Teen/Kids Calendar.” You will schedule/register for one class only for yourself and you will register your teen/child for one class only. Drinks are allowed and restrooms are available. No third parties will be permitted to be present during the class. No childcare is available on site. Please make arrangements for childcare prior to your scheduled class.
